Effective date: 27 August 2026

Save Slot is a bucket list for games. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what control you have. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

Save Slot has no accounts. You never give us a name, an email, or a password, because there is

nowhere to put one. Your list of games lives on your phone. We cannot see it.

What identifies you

When you first open Save Slot, the app generates a random identifier — an "install ID" — and stores it on your device. It is not derived from you, your phone, or your Google account, and it is not an advertising ID. It exists so the app can talk to our server about *this installation* without knowing who you are.

Deleting the app destroys the install ID. Reinstalling produces a brand-new one with no link

to the old, which also means your pile does not survive an uninstall. Use the export feature if you want to keep it.

What stays on your phone

Your pile — the games you have saved, their status, your notes, your lists — is stored on your device and is the authoritative copy. It is not uploaded, backed up to us, or synchronised.

What we receive, and why

When you share a post to Save Slot, the app sends the link and any caption text to our server

so we can work out which game it is. We look the game up in a third-party games database (IGDB) and send back what we find.

We keep a record of that attempt so identification can get better over time. That record contains the install ID, the shared link, and how the guess turned out.

We delete the raw shared content after 30 days. The link and thumbnail are erased; what

remains is anonymous signal about whether identification worked — confidence scores and the outcome — with nothing that points back at the original post.

Analytics and crash reports

Analytics. We record a small, fixed set of events — app opened, first game saved, paywall

shown, purchase completed, and similar — through Mixpanel, keyed to your install ID. Automatic event collection is switched off, so nothing beyond that named list is gathered.

Crash reports. When the app crashes we send a report through Sentry so we can fix it. Personal

information collection is explicitly disabled; the report is identified only by your install ID.

Purchases. If you buy a subscription or a Founder's Cartridge, Google Play processes the

payment and RevenueCat manages your entitlement. We never see your payment details. We record which product you bought so the app knows what you own, and for the Graded cartridge we store your certification number against your install ID.

What we never collect

No name, email address, phone number, or postal address. No location, at any precision. No contacts, calendar, SMS, photos from your library, audio, or files. No browsing history. No list of your installed apps. No advertising identifier. No demographic, health, financial, or biometric data.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. There are no ads in Save Slot.

Your control

Export. You can export your entire pile as JSON or CSV at any time from Settings. It is yours,

in a format you can read and take elsewhere.

Deletion. Uninstalling deletes everything on your device. To have server-side records removed,

contact us at caleboki@gmail.com with your install ID (Settings shows it). Since we hold nothing that identifies you personally, there is no account to close.

Nothing is required. The app works with no account, and its core loop works with no network

connection at all.

Children

Save Slot is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above. Material changes will be surfaced in the app rather than made quietly.
